GALLERY: Pictures from the final South West Cyclo-Cross League meeting at Plymouth

PLYMOUTH Corinthian Cycling Club hosted the seventh and final round of the South West Cyclo-Cross League on Sunday at Ernesettle.

Riders faced a very challenge course with thick mud around much of the course at the Plymouth City Moto X Park on the edge of the River Tamar.

There were also plenty of twists and turns to really test riders from under-eight right through to veterans.

Some riders excelled in the tough conditions, particularly Saint Piran’s Tristan Davies, who won the men’s race by more than four minutes.

Second place went to Aled Jones, with Origin’s Leo Dawes having a good ride to finish third overall and first junior man. Jonathan Gregory was fourth overall and first over-40, with new national over-60 champion Robin Delve (Mid-Devon) fifth and first in his age category.

Youngster Leo White (Origin) was sixth overall and second junior, with Lee Morgan seventh and Pilgrim Flyers Oli Allen eighth.

Heidi Gould was first woman, with Natalie Smith second and first over-40, Victoria Walker third, Mid-Devon’s over-50 veteran Jackie Shute fourth and first in his category, with Royal Navy’s Katie Pratt fifth.

Dartmoor Velo’s Oliver Murphy won the under-16 race by more than two-and-a-half minutes ahead of Team Zoyland’s George Watch.

Dartmoor’s Lara Dix enjoyed a good race in the joint under-16 and under-14 race. She finished fourth overall, second under-14 and first under-14 girl. Team-mate Orla White was second undr-14 girl and third overall in that age group.

Mid-Devon’s Matthew Holmes triumphed in the under-12 event, with club colleague Lauren Fox second and first girl. Dartmoor Velo’s Freddie Day was second under-12 boy, with Pilgrim Flyers’ James Allen third.

Mid-Devon’s Ben Ward and Wadebridge’s Daisy Roberts won the under-10 events, with Mid-Devon’s Fredrik Simcock and Charlotte Ward were took the under-eight titles. Dartmoor Velo’s Indie Skinner and Rosie Eastmond were second and third girls’ in the under-eights race.
