LAKESIDE Athletic found out why Ottery St Mary are flying high at the top of the Devon Football League South & West Division on Saturday.
The unbeaten east Devon visitors triumphed 5-0 at the Parkway to stay seven points at the top.
Ottery scored three goals in the first half and two in the second, but Lakeside’s goalkeeper did produce a couple of great saves in the second period.
Matt Webb scored a hat-trick for the visitors, with Luka Nickles and Jack Hobday also netting.
The nearest Lakeside came to a goal came when they headed against the bar from a free-kick in the 75th minute.
Lakeside sit eighth in the division, with four wins and three defeats from their opening seven league games.
