PLYMOUTH Harriers’ Rob Williams won the final Armada Winter 3k Series run of the 2019-20 season on Wednesday evening at Central Park.
Williams edged out his club colleague Alex Peyton-Jones by just one second. Williams clocked 10.48, with Peyton-Jones coming home in 10.49 minutes.
Third place was secured by Plymstock Road Runners’ veteran Graham Bale, with Plymouth Musketeers’ Thomas Kerr fourth.
Fifth place went to Plymouth Harriers’ Ruth Tyler, who was first women in 11.55 minutes.
Club colleague Jane Allison was second women in 12.58, with Mollie Atkin third.
Meanwhile, Tamar Trotters Bex Ezra was second women at the Bideford Half Marathon at the weekend.
Ezra clocked 1:23.17 to finish behind Tiverton’s Serane Stone, who took victory in 1:20.24.
Elsewhere, Tavistock’s Adam Holland won the Burnham-on-Sea 5k in 15.32 minutes, while City of Plymouth’s Simon Anderson (pictured top) was a winner at the British Masters’ Indoor Championships at Lee Valley.
Anderson won the M55 3,000m in 9:52.59, which was nearly 20 seconds ahead of his nearest rivals. He also won a silver medal in the 1,500m with a 4:39.14.
Club colleague Cara Mash claimed a bronze medal in the W35 200m with a 32.07 second run.
