Plymouth diver Dixon wins bronze medal at FINA Grand Prix in Rostock

PLYMOUTH Diving’s Matthew Dixon added another international medal to his collection on Sunday by claiming bronze in the men’s platform event at the FINA Grand Prix in Rostock.

The British champion improved through each round to finish behind Russia’s Rusian Ternovoi and Canada’s Ethan Pitman at the competition in Germany.

Dixon could not quite hit the heights he showed recently to win the British title with a personal best score of 503.85 points, but he produced a solid showing in Sunday’s final to score 420.95.

He was joined in the British team by his Plymouth team-mate Emily Martin, who came fourth in the women’s platform synchro final with international team-mate Phoebe Banks.
