Daley injured but plenty of Plymouth interest at British Diving Championships

THE British Diving Championships are taking place at Plymouth’s Life Centre this weekend.

Home fans were looking forward to seeing Olympic medallist Tom Daley back in action in Plymouth, but the two-time individual world champion has had to pull out of the competition due to a minor injury.

However, he will be doing a signing/selfie session at the Life Centre on Sunday afternoon (2.30pm).

But even though Daley will not be hitting the boards there will still be plenty of Plymouth interest.

Former 10m champion Matthew Dixon will be keen to put a marker down in Olympic year when he competes in the men’s platform event on Sunday, alongside team-mates Euan McCabe, Connor West and Josh Freeman. Aidan Heslop, though, misses the event due to injury.

Emily Martin will be looking to medal in the women’s platform events, while Cody Powell-Tuckett, Summer Radcliffe and Curtis Yuen will also be in action over the weekend.
