TAMAR Trotters’ George Prewett and Tavistock Triathlon Club’s Hannah Worth impressed at the Dartington Duathlon at the weekend.
Prewett was second overall in the standard event, finishing behind convincing winner Matt Yates.
Yates finished in 2:05.14, with Prewett clocking 2:10.08. Third place went to DFSRS’ Ben Oman in 2:13.10.
Worth was first women in the standard event after producing an impressive cycling leg. She finished in 2:30.54, but was seven minutes quicker than anyone else on the ride.
Plymouth Tri Club’s Ray Gilbey was second over-60 in 2:35.55 for the run, cycle, run event.
There was also plenty of success for the region’s athletes in the sprint event.
Tavistock’s Joe Dix finished as first junior and came eighth overall in 1:10.29.
There were also category prizes for fellow Tavistock-based athletes Claire Pitcher, Linda Pollard and Laura Evenden.
Pitcher won the women’s over-50 category, Pollard was first over-60 in an impressive time of 1:36.50, while Eveden was third over-40. Looe Pioneers’ Carol Beaver was second over-50, while Plymouth’s Maddyson Skentelbery was first junior women.
