Plymouth divers look for success at European Junior Champs in Kazan

PLYMOUTH divers Aidan Heslop, Euan McCabe and Emily Martin will be looking for international success this week when they compete at the European Junior Diving Championships in Kazan.

The trio are part of an 18-strong Great Britain team that has headed to the event in Russia.

They are joined by Plymouth coach Sally Freeman, who is part of the GB backroom team.

Martin will be the first in action when she competes in both the girls’ A platform competition and synchro event with Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix on Wednesday.

McCabe will take part in the boys’ B platform event on Thursday, while Commonwealth Games athlete Heslop will compete in the three-metre synchro with Oliver Crompton on Saturday and the boys’ A platform event on Sunday.

Heslop and Martin both won platform synchro medals at last year’s European Junior Championships, while Heslop also won an individual medal in the boys’ B age group in 2017.
