Weymouth named in GB’s team for World Aquatic Championships

PLYMOUTH’S Owen Weymouth has been named as one of four high divers who will represent Great Britain at next month’s FINA World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.

Weymouth’s selection comes after a strong performance at last month’s World Cup in Zhaoqing, China, where he finished 13th.

The 20-year-old joins World Cup champion Gary Hunt and Blake Aldridge in the GB men’s team for Gwangju, with Jessica Macalay the only female athlete in the squad.

It will be Weymouth’s second World Aquatic Championships, having made his debut in Budapest two years ago.

He finished 22nd in 2017 but will be hoping to be challenging much higher up the field this time around.
