Plymouth Swallows gymnastics win medals at British National Finals

PLYMOUTH Swallows gymnastics starred for the South West at the recent British National Finals in Stoke-on-Trent.

The club had three members – Imogen Lavis, 11, Lily Davis, 11 and Veronika Kritski, 13 – qualify for the regional team to compete against the best gymnastics in the country.

Lavis and Davis took part in the National Grade 3 category where they both impressed and won medals

Lavis wowed the judges to become National Grade 3 champion, with Davis following closely in third place.

The South West team, which also included two gymnasts from the Wiltshire School of Gymnastics, put in a stunning performance to win the grade team trophy.

Lavis and Davis also became national champions on the floor and beam, respectively.

Kritski competed in the National Grade 1 category where she finished third, with the South West team also securing third place.

A club spokesperson said: “Plymouth Swallows are delighted at the success of their gymnasts. Imogen and Lily really competed with elegance and class and Nika showed her confidence and style.”
