PLYMOUTH divers Shanice Lobb and Kayleigh Sinclair will represent Great Britain at this summer’s World University Games in Italy.
The Marjon University students are joined in a four-strong diving team for the event in Naples in July by University of Edinburgh’s Millie Fowler and Gemma McArthur.
Sinclair will compete in the springboard competitions and Lobb the platform.
It is not the first time Marjon have had divers selected for the World University Games. In 2015, Robyn Birch and Rhea Gale competed for Great Britain at the competition in South Korea.
“The World University Games will be my biggest competition to date and I couldn’t be more excited to take part,” said Sinclair.
Lobb and Sinclair are both former Devonport High School for Girls pupils and they secured their spots by impressing at the British National Cup earlier this year.
Neither athlete is on British Diving funding and so they are hoping to raise some funds to help their goal of impressing in Naples. They have set up a crowdfunding page that can be viewed HERE.
