Plymouth Harriers’ Yearling leads everyone home in final Armada Winter 3k Series run

PLYMOUTH Harriers filled three of the top four places at the final Armada Winter 3k Series run of the season on Wednesday evening at Central Park.

Youngster Sam Yearling was first home for the fifth consecutive month. He clocked 10.08 minutes in windy conditions to finish six seconds ahead of his Harriers’ team-mate John Cooper.

City of Plymouth junior Oliver Woodmason was third in 10.29, with Plymouth Harriers’ Alex Peyton-Jones just three seconds behind in fourth.

City of Plymouth under-13 athlete Molly Shorey continued her impressive form by finishing first women for a fourth time in the series. She clocked 11.28 minutes to finish more than a minute ahead of any other female runner.

Plymouth Harriers’ Jane Allison was second women home in 12.36 minutes, with Tamar Trotters’ Imogen Rickard third.

Next month the Armada Summer 5k Series starts at Saltram House. The opening run of the series will be on Wednesday, April 10.
