TAVISTOCK AC’s ultra specialist Adam Holland claimed victory in the inaugural Lopwell Loop race on Sunday.
The event was hosted by Storm Plymouth and saw more than 200 runners complete a tough 12km run from Tamerton Foliot up to Broadley and down to Lopwell Dam and back on the bottom road to the start. The new race included eight major hills.
Holland was the comfortable winner, clocking 45 minutes and 47 seconds.
Second and third places went to over-50 veterans Graham Bale and Stuart Hall.
Plymstock Road Runners’ Bale finished second in 48.02 minutes, with former Commonwealth Games marathon runner Hall third in 48.22.
Haldon Trail Runners’ Elizabeth Dyson dominated the women’s race and also finished sixth overall in 50.05 minutes.
Second women was Fleur Peoples in 52.56, with Tavistock AC’s Jodie Fisk third in 53.38.
Tavistock won both the male and female team awards.
