Morrish and Ezra take titles at rearranged Mad March Hare 10k

BEN MORRISH claimed victory in the rearranged Mad March Hare Plympton 10k race on Sunday.

The Plymouth Round Table event, which starts and finishes at the Plymouth Devils’ speedway track, had to be postponed in March due to the bad weather.

Conditions could not have been different this weekend with athletes treated to bright sunshine.

Morrish finished in a time of 36 minutes and 12 seconds. He was nearly a minute ahead of second-placed athlete Graham Bale from Plymstock Road Runners. Bale, who was first over-50, clocked 37.11, with Ben Austin taking third in 38.00.

Tamar Trotters Bex Ezra was fourth overall and first women by more than five minutes with a time of 40.02.

Second women was Plymouth Musketeers’ Rachael Tarrant, who clocked 45.03, with Georgina Thomas third in 49.34.
