TOM DALEY and Matthew Dixon have both been included in the England diving team for April’s Commonwealth Games in Australia.
They are joined in the 13-strong squad by former Plymouth divers Robyn Birch and Dan Goodfellow.
World champion Daley will be making his third Commonwealth Games appearance. He won the men’s 10m event for the first time in Delhi in 2010 before defending the title in 2014.
Daley said: “It is an honour to be selected to represent Team England at my third Commonwealth Games.
“I had a great year last year, retaining my 10m title at the World Championships, and I am hoping that I can build on that and put in some great performances out on the Gold Coast in April.”
Dixon will be appearing at his second Commonwealth Games, having competed as a 14-year-old in 2014.
He secured his spot at the Gold Coast by winning the British platform title at the Life Centre last month.
European junior champion Dixon said: “I am so pleased and honoured to be selected for the Commonwealth Games and to be representing Team England again as this is my second Commonwealths. I am so happy and excited to be going out to Australia, I can’t wait.”
Former Plymouth coach Marc Holdsworth will be among Team England’s support staff.
