CHILDREN who find themselves in Derriford Hospital on Christmas Day are likely to receive a gift courtesy of Plymouth Argaum RFC.
The Cornwall/Devon League club have followed in the footsteps of many professional sports clubs and made a donation to their local hospital.
They have presented Derriford’s children’s emergency department with 40 gifts for youngsters admitted on December 25.
Argaum secretary Stuart Quarterman said: “As a club we decided to make a donation and give a sack full of gifts.
“It is not a lot of effort, but hopefully it could be quite significant for somebody getting a gift.”
He added: “As a club we are always looking to do something – we also have links with Help for Heroes.
“We are trying to become more of a family-orientated club and really build links within the community.”
