PLYMOUTH Triathlon Club enjoyed success in both the sprint and standard distances at the Dartington Duathlon.
In the standard event, the top two places were taken by club members, with Adam Gitlin, racing for Alltrax on the day, and Pete Moon coming first and second.
Veteran athlete Gitlin finished in 2:17.50, with Moon, who won his age category, stopping the clock at 2:20.08.
Club colleagues Steve Edmonds (2:50.23) and Jan Walpole (2:56.50) took silver medals in their age categories, with Jamie Muirhead (2:34.07) 13th overall and fourth in his age group, while David Hurrell (2:49.27) was just outside the top 10 in his age group, finishing 11th.
In the sprint distance, Lucy Spowart was fifth women overall and first in her age group. She clocked 1:27.24, with South West Road Runners’ Nicky Savill first women home in 1:22.27.
Torbay’s Tim Watson was first home in the sprint distance in a time of 1:07.25, with Royal Navy athlete Michael Gallacher second in 1:08.09.
Plymouth Tri Club’s Tom Jennings was sixth overall and second in his age category in 1:12.13.
Tavistock’s Pete Tomes was ninth overall and fourth senior male in 1:13.42
Plymouth Tri Club’s Matt Rayment (1:16.47), Ian Lamerton (1:26.06), Dawn Turner (1:32.01) and Dawn Lamerton (1:35.54) all achieved top five placings in their respective age categories.
The event took place in Dartington Hall gardens. The standard distance was a 10k run, followed by a 40k bike ride and then a 5k run. The sprint distance was a 5k run, 20k bike ride and 2.5k run.
