Plymouth Harriers’ Andrews and Erme Valley athletes impress in August’s Run Exe 5k

PLYMOUTH Harriers’ Jordan Andrews finished third in Tuesday night’s Run Exe Summer 5k Series race.

Andrews clocked 16 minutes and 22 seconds to finish behind Exmouth’s Tom Merson and Andrew Chambers.

Merson was in dominant form, finishing in 14.59 minutes, which was easily the quickest time of the series so far.

Erme Valley Harriers’ Andrew Perry was ninth overall in 17.19 minutes.

It turned out to be a good evening for Erme Valley athletes.

Youngster Sam Yearling came 16th overall and was first under-15. He clocked 17.49 to even beat all the under-17 runners.

His team-mate Joe Perry was second under-17 in 18.26, while Alison Thorn was third women overall and first over-40 in 18.51.

Thorn has finished first in her category at all five series races so far this year.
