Plymouth’s Pillage named in GB squad for World Championships in Cairo

PLYMOUTH modern pentathlete Myles Pillage has been named in Great Britain’s team for next month’s World Championships in Cairo.

Pillage, who is still a junior, has just returned from the European Senior Championships, where he finished sixth with GB team-mate Jess Varley in the mixed relay and 11th with Bradley Sutton in the men’s relay.

The former Plymouth College head boy will again team up with fellow 19-year-old Sutton in the men’s relay in Egypt.

Conditions in Cairo will be tough, with temperatures set to hit the 40 degree mark.

The men’s relay event will take place on August 22.

Joining Pillage and Sutton in the GB will be Kate French, Samantha Murray, Joanna Muir, Francesca Summers, Joe Choong, Jamie Cooke, Tom Toolis and Sam Curry.
