Depleted Buccaneers claim two vitals wins at Hereford

PLYMOUTH Buccaneers Flag American Football Club overcame the absence of a number of players to claim two vital South West Conference wins at Hereford.

The Buccs beat Coventry Panthers and Northants Titans White to keep their play-off ambitions alive.

They are now 7-7 in the standings with one tournament to go at the end of July. Two more wins should be enough for them to seal a play-off spot for a second year running.

Their first victory at the weekend came against Coventry.  In what turned out to be a shoot-out, a hat-trick of touch-down receptions by Sam Smith and five touch-down passes from Barry Sellers helped the Bucs to a 35-27 win.

They then followed that up with a 44-32 victory over Northants Titans White in another end-to-end game.

This time a brace of scores from Iain Sawczyzsak and six touch-down passes from Sellers help them to the win.
