CITY of Plymouth athlete Simon Anderson claimed the World Indoor Masters’ Championship 3,000m title on Thursday in Daegu.
Anderson, who had finished fourth in Monday’s over-50 cross country race, clocked 9:36.27 minutes to beat Spainard Jose Ramirez Ramirez by just half-a-second.
Ramirez, who had taken silver in the cross country competition, finished in 9:36.75, with Anderson’s Great Britain team-mate Brian Scally finishing third in the over-50 race in 9:41.89.
The men’s over-50 1,500m competition will take place on Saturday in Korea.
