City of Plymouth’s Weir wins silver on her debut for England in Spain

CITY of Plymouth AC’s Victoria Weir enjoyed a successful debut for England on Sunday by winning silver at the Elgoibar International Cross Country in Spain.

Weir, who has competed twice for Great Britain in the last two months, was only beaten by her international team-mate Amelia Quirk who took victory at the Basque event.

Quirk clocked 15.36 minutes, with Weir finishing in 15.52.

England filled the top four spots, with Kate Waugh third in 16.05 and Sarah Chapman fourth in 16.31.
