City of Plymouth Trampoline and Gymnastics Club end year on a high

15134662_1695906784058264_2525906808716059646_nCITY of Plymouth Trampoline and Gymnastics Club ended their year in style by returning with medals from the English Championships and the South West Trampoline Championships.

The club had three individuals – Ben Miller, Evangeline Piper and Oscar Piper – qualify for the English Trampoline Championships which were held at Coventry’s Skydome Arena.

Oscar Piper claimed three national titles at the event.

His first gold came in the individual boys’ 9-10 years’ event before winning the mixed 9-12 year-old synchro competition with his sister Evangeline and then claiming a team gold.

His sister won a team silver to add to her synchro gold, while Miller, competing at his first national event, claimed three bronze medals, including an individual third place in the 13-14 boys’ category.

Miller and Evangeline Piper followed up their national success by winning South West trampoline titles at Bath University.

The Plymouth club returned from that event with an impressive 15 medals.

15056281_1695937330721876_8767852003877835458_nMiller, just 13 years old, claimed the South West under-15 title and then produced his best performance of his career to achieve second place in the senior men’s category with an eight-double somersault routine.

Evangeline Piper’s gold came in the under-13 girls’ competition.

There was also an individual silver for Nyla Evely in the under-11 girls’ event.

In the synchro, Stephanie Hancock and Evangeline Piper won silver in the under-15 category, while Tim Godden and Zac Boughton claimed bronze in the over-15 event.

There was a team silver for Plymouth under-13 girls’ trio of Stephanie Hancock, Ebony Colbourne and Evangeline Piper and a bronze for the under-nine team of Reece Marchant, Oliver Lacey and Charlie Carter.

There was also a silver medal for Stephanie Hancock in the under-13 girls’ double mini trampoline event.
