Young Plymouth trampoline stars impress on international stage

TWO young City of Plymouth Trampoline Club members gained international experience recently at the Loule Cup in Portugal.

Ten-year-old Oscar Piper and nine-year-old Nyla Evely both impressed at the event, where they were competing against far older gymnasts from around the world.

The pair took part in the under-13 age group, with Piper finishing seventh out of 36 and Evely, three years younger than many of her rivals, coming 27th out of 46th.

Gymnasts from as far as China and the USA competed at the event.

The two Plymouth stars, along with other members of their club, now have their sights set on qualifying for the 2017 British Championships.

Piper, also a talented diver, won silver in the boys’ 9-10 age group at last year’s British Championships.

The City of Plymouth Trampoline Club is ever-growing and they looking forward to an exciting forthcoming season.
