Devils face tough test at home to Newcastle in their penultimate meet

Devils logoPLYMOUTH Devils face a tough test against third-placed Newcastle in their penultimate Premier League match of the season at the St Boniface Arena on Friday evening (7.15pm).

Newcastle are spearheaded by a couple of top young British riders in Steve Worrall and 18-year-old Robert Lambert with their heat leader trio completed by skipper and Swedish star Ludvig Lindgren.

Completing the top five are Czech Republic rider Matej Kus and Lindgren’s fellow Swede Victor Palovaara. At reserve are Danny Phillips and former Plymouth rider Ashley Morris.

The Devils will be at full strength but team manager Lee Trigger warns: “Newcastle are in the play-offs and still looking for a possible top two finish which will ensure a place in the semi-finals.

“They have some useful riders at the St Boniface Arena with the likes of Lambert and Worrall along with our former rider Ashley Morris, who has recently joined them at reserve.”

Plymouth: Jack Holder, Stefan Nielsen, Sam Simota, Todd Kurtz, Kyle Newman. Reserves: Steve Boxall, Ellis Perks.

Newcastle: Steve Worrall, Victor Palovaara, Matej Kus, Ludvig Lindgren, Robert Lambert. Reserves: Ashley Morris, Danny Phillips.
