Plymouth’s Tuima named in England Women’s Under-20 squad to face Canada

LAGI Tuima Devonport ServicesPLYMOUTH rugby player Lagi Tuima is set to win her first England Under-20 cap after being named in their squad for a three-match series against Canada in Nottingham this month.

Tuima, who was part of Devonport Services’ successful under-18 squad last season, is one of just three new players in the England 26-strong squad.

She earned her place after impressing at a training camp last month.

England Women’s Under-20 head coach Jo Yapp said: “We have had a very successful three-day camp at RAF Cosford with the squad last month and the two weeks together will provide the players with a further opportunity to train and play in an international team environment.

“We have a really exciting group of players coming through and we look forward to taking on Canada, who will provide us with tough competition.”

England’s matches against Canada Under-20s will be played on August 18, August 22 and August 26 at Nottingham Trent University.

After moving up from under-18 level, Tuima is set to play for Plymouth Albion this coming season. Also in the squad is former Plymouth player Lottie Holland.
