MIKE WILSMORE ran a storming final leg to help GTR1 to victory at the Tavistock Relays.
The international 1,500m runner clocked four minutes and 39.7 seconds for the 1.1 mile lap around Meadows Park.
GTR1, with Adam Peacock, Sam Pictor and Owen Parkin making up the rest of the team, finished more than one-and-a-half minutes ahead of their rivals.
Second were East Cornwall Jump Jet Harriers, who finished in a total time of 21.20.6.
Okehampton RC3 were third in 21.38 with Plymouth Harriers’ quartet of Tom Humphrey, Harry Roberts, Steve Hill and John Porter fourth in 21.43.
Host club Tavistock had the first all ladies team home. Their successful side of Samantha Lake, Victoria Moore, Caroline Steven and Jennifer Sabine clocked 26.27.2.
Second ladies team were Plymouth Harriers, who finished in 27.18. Their quartet was made up of Ami Yetton, Hayley Cozens, Rebecca Hickman and Ells Coombes.
Some 70 teams took part in the senior relays, with another 24 competing in the junior event before.
Tavistock dominated the junior races, filling the top three spots. Their Tavy 1 side of Dan Mercer, Dan Luckham, Joe Dix and Olly Woodmason won in 25.26.1, with Tavy 9 second and the all girls’ Tavy 3 team third. City of Plymouth’s girls’ quartet were fourth overall and second in their category.
