PLYMOUTH Albion have confirmed the re-signing of Cornwall front-row forward Tom Cowan-Dickie from Redruth.

Cowan-Dickie played for Albion as a dual-registered player from Exeter Chiefs during the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons before joining Plymouth permanently for the 2014/15 campaign.

He spent last season at Redruth but has been in conversations for months about returning to Brickfields.

“I had a good season at Redruth but feel I have some unfinished business at Albion,” said Cowan-Dickie, who can play hooker or prop.

The 25-year-old, who twice nearly moved to London Scottish, recently toured Canada with the England Counties squad, along with fellow Albion players Matt Shepherd and Dan Williams.

He is hopeful he can help Albion back to the Championship, where he made nine starts and 20 replacement appearances for Plymouth between 2012 and 2015.

“I want to play again for Plymouth and get the club back up into the Championship,” said Cowan-Dickie. “Albion are a big club and if they get everything right next season there is no reason why they can’t get promoted.”

Albion need to boost their front-row options after losing James Penman, Christian Judge and Ollie Dawe.
