ERME Valley Harriers’ Alison McEwing was first women home in July’s Run Exe Summer 5k Series.

McEwing, who recently retained her Devon 10,000m title, clocked 18 minutes and 18 seconds for the traffic free run around Exwick Playing Fields and the River Exe Flood Relief.

She was 16 seconds ahead of the second women, Tiverton’s Serance Stone.

McEwing’s Erme Valley team-mate Cleo Perry was fourth women home and first over-40 in 18.51.

Royal Marine Neil Russell won the men’s race in 15.56. Full results can be found HERE.

Meanwhile, this weekend sees Plymstock Road Runners host their Muddy Duck 10k race.

The run, which used to be known as the Ducksponds Race, attracted nearly 150 competitors last year for its 25th anniversary.

The event, which starts and finishes at Oreston Academy, takes runners around a two-lap multi-terrain course, including water crossings, in Radford Park.

The main race starts at 6pm with a 3k fun run going off at 5.15pm.
