MATT SHEPHERD has become the fourth player to commit to Plymouth Albion for the 2015/16.
The 26-year-old was Albion’s top points scorer last season with 196 points, including 14 tries, after joining the club from Launceston.
Cornwall star Shepherd can play scrum-half, wing or full-back.
He was keen to stay in the South West as he partner runs a business in St Austell.
“I’m pleased to sign a new contact and excited about pulling on an Albion shirt again,” said Shepherd, who is set to play for Cornwall this weekend in the County Championship final.
Shepherd was pleased with how his first season went at Albion, who won 22 out of their 30 league games.
“The Albion squad pulled together and achieved great things,” he said. “A few of us from last season have signed new contacts and I hope we can keep the bulk of the squad together.
“With the addition of some new faces we will have the ability to push on from last season. I know some of the other teams have recruited well but my aim is to get Albion promoted back to the Championship.”
Shepherd joins Nile Dacres, Herbie Stupple and Dan Pullinger in penning a new deal at the club.
