PLYMOUTH’S international hurdler David King opened his outdoor season with victory at the Belfast International Meet.
The 21-year-old clocked 13.82 seconds at a wet and windy Mary Peters Track, beating Denmark’s Andreas Martinsen (13.91) and Hungary’s Valdo Szucs (14.09) to the line.
He then clocked 13.91 in a second race into a strong 1.7 metre per second wind.
City of Plymouth’s King was the only athlete to go under 14 seconds in the second race, with Szucs taking runners-up spot in 14.15.
Next up for King will be the televised Great City Games in Manchester on Friday, May 20.
