JIM COLE cruised to a comfortable victory in the Saltash Half Marathon on Sunday.
The 34-year-old Tavistock runner was three minutes ahead of the next athlete home, which was Tamar Trotters’ Steve Wilsmore.
Cole, who was runners-up in 2011, clocked 1:18.44, with Wilsmore finishing in 1:21.43.
It was Cole’s second half marathon within two weeks. He had finished sixth in the Plymouth Half on April 17.
Third home at Saltash was Chris Howe, who came home in a time of 1:24.05.
Declan Cullingford (1:26.10) was fourth and Chris Barker fifth (1;28.20).
There was an impressive run from female over-40 veteran runner Rachel Bunting, who was first women home in 1:32.09.
St Austell’s Debbie Starkey, also over-40, was second women in 1:35.05, with Tamar Trotters’ over-50 athlete Jane Bremner third in 1:40.58.
