Plymouth Diving claim two gold medals on second day of British Elite Junior Champs

PLYMOUTH Diving enjoyed a successful second day at the British Elite Junior Championships at the Life Centre.

The city club backed up Owen Weymouth and Alex Kostov’s synchro silver medal on Wednesday night, with more podium places on Thursday evening.

Leading the way was Commonwealth Games star Victoria Vincent. The teenager won the girls’ B three-metre final by nearly 50 points. Vincent, who does not turn 15 until Sunday, scored 397.90 points, with Leeds’ Emily Bearpark second on 348.30. Plymouth’s Cody Powell-Tuckett was fourth with 333.25.

There was also a gold medal for Aidan Heslop in the boys’ B platform final. Heslop scored 431.90 to finish well clear of Sheffield’s Owen Harrison in second.

Evangeline Piper claimed a British bronze medal in the girls’ C three-metre event, while there were fourth-placed finishes for guest Kostov in the one-metre boys’ A final and Kayleigh Sinclair in the girls’ A one-metre.
