CITY of Plymouth’s Simon Anderson enjoyed success at the Southern Counties Indoor Veterans’ Championships at Lee Valley over the weekend.
Anderson claimed victory in the men’s over-50 1,500m race, took silver in the 800m event and a bronze in the 400m.
He won the 1,500m by nearly seven seconds, clocking four minutes and 31.48 seconds to finish ahead of Herne Hills’ Gary Ironmonger.
Anderson, who coaches many of City of Plymouth’s top middle distance talent, enjoyed a good battle in the 800m with Southampton’s Jon Tilt.
Tilt took victory in 2:11.52, with Anderson crossing the line in 2:13.11. The pair were more than 10 seconds in front of the rest of the field.
In the 400m, Anderson clocked 60.77 seconds.
