CITY of Plymouth athlete Poppy Tank produced an impressive run to finish second at the Cardiff British Athletics Cross Country Challenge event on Sunday.

Tank took silver in the under-20 women’s category behind European Junior Cross Country Championship runner-up Harriet Knowles-Jones of Warrington.

Knowles-Jones was well ahead of the rest of the field, coming home in 18 minutes and 42 seconds.

Tank finished comfortably in second in 20.14, with Becon’s Heidi Davies third in 20.24.

Cornwall’s 16-year-old Yojo Barnsley, running up an age category, was sixth in 20.56.
