A NUMBER of the region’s young athletes returned home from the South West of England Indoor Under-17 Championships in Cardiff with medals.
The championships were held in conjunction with the Wales Athletics Junior Grand Prix event in Cardiff.
City of Plymouth’s Emily Bee collected a medal of every colour in the under-15 girls’ category.
Bee won the long jump with a leap of 4.86 metres, took silver in the high jump with a best of 1.45m and took bronze in the 200m in 27.38 seconds.
The 200m event was won by Erme Valley Harriers’ Sammie Harris (pictured), who produced a fast 26.46 seconds to claim gold.
Tavistock’s Josh Davies claimed two golds in the under-17 boys’ 200m and 400m events. Davies clocked 24.27 for the 200m and 53.98 for the 400m.
There was also joy for his Tavistock team-mates Jenny Milburn and Tayla James, who crossed the line in 45.22 and 50.74 respectively, to take silver and bronze in the under-15 girls’ 300m.
