ERME Valley Harriers youngster Nathan Brown was first home in December’s festive-themed Armada Network Winter 3k Series race on Wednesday night.

Brown had finished second in October’s race and fifth last month, but this time managed to power home ahead of everyone else in the Central Park event.

The teenager clocked 10.04 to edge out Plymouth Harriers’ Tom Humphrey, who took second in 10.07, and Plymouth University’s Oli Wright, who came third in 10.13.

Plymouth Harriers’ John Cooper was fourth in 10.22 and Erme Valley’s Allister Bristow fifth with a time of 10.33.

There was an Erme Valley double as Cleo Perry was first women home in 11.22, finishing ahead of the Plymouth Harriers pair of Ami Yetton (10.45) and Jane Allison (12.09).

Some 80 runners completed the run, which saw a number of athletes dress up in festival gear. Participants were also treated to Christmas music and a mince pie on finishing.

The next Winter 3k Series race takes place on January 13.
