VIDEO: Bramley first home in opening Armada Winter 3k Series race

BRITISH youth triathlon champion Travis Bramley was first home in the opening Armada Winter 3k Series run at Central Park on Wednesday night.

City of Plymouth runner Bramley, who won the under-17 3,000m title at the South West Inter-County Championships in the summer, finished in a time of nine minutes and 54 seconds.

Second runner home was another promising teenager, Nathan Brown of Erme Valley Harriers. Brown, who impressed in the summer over 800m, clocked 10.02.

Tamar Trotters’ Pete Waumsley came third and first over-40 in 10.30, with University of Plymouth athlete Michael Jarvis fourth in 10.50 and Plymstock Road Runners’ Graham Bale fifth in 10.52.

Plymouth Harriers’ Jane Allison was first female home in 11.49, ahead of Tavistock pair of Sarah Bull (12.11) and Emma Ryder (12.53).

Ninety runners in total finished Wednesday’s race.

The next run in the series will take place on Wednesday, November 11.
