Time’s running out to enter Autumn Trail run at Newnham Park

AthleticsRUNNERS have just a few days left to enter the revived Autumn Trail run at Newnham Park.

The event takes place on Sunday, but all entries must be received by midnight on Friday.

The Armada Athletics Network are hosting the race, which for 10 years was organised by Frank Elford Sports.

The course is eight miles over trails, tracks, grass areas, woodlands and water crossings around Newnham Park estate. A maximum of 800 runners can take part in the main race, which starts at 10.30am. However, there will be a one-mile family fun run at 9.45pm.

Race director Paul Ross said: “It is good to have this race back in the local race calendar. The event was well supported in the past and indications were that it could become as popular now as it was when organised by Frank Elford Sports.”

Meanwhile, this Saturday (September 26) the Plym Valley Park Run will be celebrating its third anniversary. To mark the occasion organisers are encouraging athletes to run in fancy dress. They are hoping to attract at least 200 runners.

Like every Saturday, the race starts at Plymbridge at 9am.
