City hurdler King claims third place at Gothenburg event

CITY of Plymouth hurdler David King claimed a bronze medal at the Folksam Grand Prix in Gothenburg on Friday night.

King clocked 13.76 seconds in the 110m hurdles final to edge out fellow British athlete William Sharman for third.

Sharman, two-times Commonwealth Games silver medallist, finished fourth in 13.78 seconds.

The event was won by another Brit, David Omoregie, the European Under-23 champion, who clocked 13.55 seconds, with Norway’s former world junior silver medallist Vladimir Vukicevic second in 13.74.

Afterwards King, who had run 13.89 seconds in the heats, tweeted: “Enjoyed racing in Gothenbury. Another solid time, third place and a great build up to my last race Lee Valley on Wednesday.”
