Fly-half Bale will continue to train with Plymouth Albion

Elliot Bale

PLYMOUTH Albion’s director of rugby Graham Dawe says the club are continuing to assess trialist fly-half Elliot Bale.

The 23-year-old former Cambridge and Shelford player started Albion’s pre-season match at Jersey last Saturday.

Bale, who spent last season playing in France, kicked a penalty and a conversion in Albion’s 43-15 defeat to the Championship side at St Peter.

“We were really pleased with his performance against Jersey and we’ll take it from there,” said Dawe.

Bale has agreed to continue to train with Albion, who start their league season on September 5 when they entertain Richmond at Brickfields.

“We will continue to assess and look at him,” added Dawe, who is keen to add at least one more fly-half to his squad.

Meanwhile, South African forward David Fisher is expected to be unveiled ahead of the club’s Meet the Players night on Thursday.
