Plymouth Leander show their relay prowess on final day of ASA Nationals

PLYMOUTH LEANDERPLYMOUTH Leander showed their relay prowess on the final day of the ASA National Summer Swimming Championships in Sheffield.

The city club claimed two golds and two silvers in the team events at Ponds Forge.

Leander won the 14/16-year-old boys’ 4x100m medley, courtesy of Oscar Brain, Tom Beagley, Sam Dailley and Iestyn Cole, and then their senior team of Ethan Harrington, Harry James, Daniel Jones and John Slater also triumphed.

Their silvers came in the 14/16 girls’ 4x100m medley, courtesy of Imogen McCalman, Rose Metz, Yasmin Boft and Isobel Wild, and in the senior race through Izabella Blacklock, Rebecca Sheppard, Katarina Blanco and Emily Corry.

reeceMount Kelly Swimming also rounded off a successful week with a number of podium places.

Reece Worth (pictured) won the men’s 18 and over 400m freestyle event by four seconds. Worth clocked 4:00.55.

Kaylee Dekker claimed yet another medal, this time a silver in the 12/13-year-old girls’ 50m freestyle. She clocked 27.48.

Team-mate Lauren Hession swam 27.92 to claim silver in the 14-year-old one-length event.
