PLYMOUTH divers Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow both progressed through to the 10m platform semi-finals at the World Championships in Kazan.
FINA World Series champion Couch, competing at her sixth World Championships, was the more consistent of the two British divers in the preliminary round, scoring 328.70 points, to qualify ninth out of the 37 competitors.
However, she will be hoping to improve on her second and final dives in the semis.
European champion Barrow, who came fourth at the last World Championships in Barcelona, had to pull out a stunning last dive of 78.40 points to qualify.
Barrow, who is struggling with stress fractures in her shins, found herself down in 31st spot with just two rounds to go after dropping her second and third efforts.
But she recovered to finish 17th and will be hoping to find her best form in the semis.
