ERME Valley Harriers’ Nathan Brown just missed out on setting a new personal best in the 800m at City of Plymouth’s July Evening Open Meet.
The under-17 athlete (pictured top left) clocked two minutes dead for the two lap race at Brickfields, which was just 0.35 seconds off his previous best time. He finished more than 100m ahead of anyone else.
City of Plymouth’s Jack Endacott dominated the boys’ under-11 category. He triumphed in the 70m hurdles (13.1 seconds), the 150m (22.3 secs) and the long jump with a great leap of 4.03 metres.
His team-mate Ben Foster claimed victories in the under-13 boys’ 100m (13.6 secs) and 150m (21.2 secs).
There was an impressive run by Plymouth’s Emily Childs in the under-13 600m. She clocked 1:59.5, which was less than a second behind the boys’ winner William Hardiman.
Erme Valley’s Bronwyn Harris comfortably won the under-13 70m hurdles in a time of 13.8 seconds.
Plymouth’s under-15 athletes Mia O’Daly and Emma Liardet were dominant in the throwing events.
O’Daly triumphed in the shot with 9.68m and Liardet the javelin with 31.63m.
