European success for Plymouth College pentathletes

Myles Pillage and Kerenza Bryson Youth A European Pentathlon Championships

TWO Plymouth College athletes won medals for Great Britain at the European Youth A Pentathlon Championships in Prague.

Kerenza Bryson, 16, and Myles Pillage, 17, were part of the GB mixed relay team that won bronze at the event, behind Italy and Belurus.

Bryson also won a team silver in the girls’ competition in the Czech Republic.

She came fifth overall in the individual event, jointly winning the fencing. With her two team-mates, sisters Georgina and Charlotte Summers, Great Britain came second with 3001 points behind Russia with 3100 points.

Pillage came 13th in the boys’ individual event, winning his semi-final swim with a PB and securing first place in the swim in the final.

Director of modern pentathlon and fencing, Andy Hill said: “This is a great result for Kerenza and Myles and will set them up for the World Championships in Argentina towards the end of the summer.”
