Plymouth College pupils win national athletics medals in Birmingham

National IAPS Athletics Championships

TWO young athletes from Plymouth College Preparatory School won medals at the national IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) Athletics Championships held at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham.

Competing in the under-12 category, Abagael Black (pictured right) took gold in the 200m. She achieved a personal best time of 28.67 seconds in the heats and then beat it again in the final to finish in 28.50.  She also won silver in the 100m in a time of 13.89.

In the high jump, Bronwyn Harris (pictured left) set a personal best of 1.35 metres for a bronze medal.

“Winning medals at such a prestigious competition is a fantastic achievement,” said Plymouth College Preparatory School Headmaster Chris Gatherer.  “I am very proud of the girls for representing the school in this way.”
