SAMMIE HARRIS, Emily Bee and Jenna Bierton will be hoping to impress for Devon this weekend at the South West Schools’ Combined Events Championships in Yeovil.
Ivybridge Community College pupil Harris, a member of Erme Valley Harriers, and Plymouth High School for Girls student Bee, a City of Plymouth athlete, will both take part in the junior girls’ event.
Harris, who is ranked number two in the UK’s under-15 pentathlon rankings with 2,999 points, has already claimed victory at the Devon Schools’ and Somerset Schools’ Combined Events Championships.
She has also been selected to compete for Devon in the long jump and relay at next month’s English Schools’ Championships in Gateshead.
However, Harris is constantly being pushed by Bee, who is ranked ninth in the UK rankings with 2,805 points.
Plymstock pupil Bierton, meanwhile, will compete in the senior girls’ event this weekend at the Bill Whistlecroft Arena in Yeovil.
The City of Plymouth athlete won the 100m hurdles and came second in the triple jump competing for Devon last weekend in the South West Schools’ Track and Field Championships at Exeter.
