PLYMOUTH Devils will be looking to build on the boost given by last week’s home win over Redcar when they meet Sheffield Tigers in the Premier League at the St Boniface Arena on Friday evening (7.15pm).
Apart from the continued absence of injured reserve Sam Chapman, the Devils will be at full strength.
They have called up former Devon Demons rider Richard Andrews as a guest replacement. Andrews is currently riding for Eastbourne in the National League.
The Devils will be hoping that Ryan Fisher continues to show the improved form that saw him getting back to his best against Redcar and away to Workington on Saturday.
Co-promoter Ashley Taylor said: “Ryan appears to be getting over the mechanical problems that troubled him during the early part of the season. As far as we are concerned, Ryan is a genuine number one and his riding position is a false one at the moment.”
Sheffield will be without two of their leading riders with Great Britain international Simon Stead suffering from a broken upper arm and femur following a crash at Rye House last month.
He will be replaced by Redcar’s young Dane Lasse Bjerre, while the Tigers operate rider replacement for former Plymouth rider Australian Ty Proctor, who is ruled out because of visa problems.
Completing the top five for Sheffield will be Jason Garrity, Ashley Birks and experienced Yorkshireman Andre Compton. At reserve they have a couple of 19-year-olds in the 2014 British Under-21 Champion Josh Bates and Australian Arthur Sissis.
Plymouth: Kyle Newman, Sam Simota, Morten Risager, Jack Holder, Ryan Fisher. Reserves: Ashley Morris, Richard Andrews.
Sheffield: Lasse Bjerre, rider replacement for Ty Proctor, Ashley Birks, Jason Garrity, Andre Compton. Reserves: Josh Bates, Arthur Sissis.
