Devon and Royal Navy players will be looking to stake a claim at the Rectory

devnavTHERE will be plenty for the players of Devon and the Royal Navy to play for on Wednesday night when the sides meet at the Rectory (7.30pm).

The Navy are using the match as preparation for their Inter-Service Championship fixtures against the RAF and Army.

Their match against the RAF takes place next week (April 15) before they play the Army at Twickenham on May 9.

Devon, meanwhile, are looking to put together a squad for their Tamar Cup clash against Cornwall on April 28 and then their County Championship campaign, which starts on May 9.

The Green and Whites are using Wednesday’s match at the Rectory to have a look at players turning out at level seven or below.

Devonport Services players Matt Gregory, Jamie Shone, Andy Pond and Luke Kenny are include in the county squad.

Teignmouth’s Simon Morrell has taken over as Devon’s new coach this season replacing Albion player-coach Ruairi Cushion.
