GETHIN JONES could be in line for his Plymouth Argyle debut on Friday when they entertain league leaders Burton Albion at Home Park (3pm).
The 19-year-old Everton full-back/midfielder signed for Argyle last week on a loan deal until the end of the season. However, the youngster was unable to feature against Cheltenham Town last weekend as he was away on international duty with Wales Under-21s. Jones captained his country to a 3-1 win over Bulgaria on Tuesday in an UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifier.
But he has now met up with his new team-mates in Devon and will be hoping to make John Sheridan’s match-day squad on Friday.
Fellow loanee Zah Ansah, who also signed for Argyle last week, should make his home debut against Burton.
The Charlton Athletic striker came on as a substitute last Saturday and scored in their 3-0 win over Cheltenham.
It remains to be seen if he has done enough to start Friday’s match or whether he will again be used as an impact player.
Argyle, who sit seventh in the table – the final promotion play-off position, will face a tough test against Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s high-flying Burton.
Albion have the second best away record in the league and have won four and draw one of their last five matches.
