Britain’s top junior divers head for Plymouth

IMG_1624TOP quality diving returns to Plymouth this week when the Life Centre hosts the British Elite Junior Championships.

The event, which starts on Wednesday and runs through to Saturday, follows on from the Life Centre’s successful hosting of the British Senior Championships in February.

A number of the stars of February’s competition will be on show again this week.

City of Leeds’ 15-year-old Lois Touslon, who caused the shock of the senior championships by beating Sarah Barrow and Tonia Couch to win the women’s platform event, will be hoping for more success at the Life Centre.

Plymouth Diving’s Commonwealth Games star Matthew Dixon, who came second to Tom Daley in February, will be looking to further enhance his reputation in his home pool.

Another Commonwealth Games competitor James Heatley is also among the entries, as is Great Britain senior international Matty Lee.

As well as Dixon, Plymouth will be represented by Shanice Lobb, Kayleigh Sinclair, Blaise Fice and Cody Powell-Tuckett.

Unfortunately, Commonwealth Games competitor and 2014 senior platform champion Victoria Vincent is still not ready to compete after the eye injury she suffered towards the end of last year.

Switzerland are also sending a team to the championships.
